In my project, I use an Esp8266 wifi module to connect to my wifi
modem and upload the temperature to an online website Thingspeak to
plot its graph which can be later viewed from an Smartphone or laptop.
Esp8266 is a cheap module that can connect to Internet easily and
upload data on many websites that are interfaceble using an API key.
This project can be used as guidance for your home system to look at
temperature, energy consumption and many other interfaces that can be
easily check through your Smartphone.
